The Kathmandu Valley police have stated that security arrangements have been provided to prevent any untoward incidents at the general convention of UML, which begins on Saturday. More than 1500 police officers are arranged; moreover, police dogs are deployed in the field. Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ishwor Karki, the chief of the Valley Police, said that security arrangements have been tightened to prevent any untoward incidents during the general convention, which is being held under different circumstances after the Gen-G movement. ‘A separate plan has been made, and police teams have been deployed as per the decision of the District Security Committees of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts,’ he told Kantipur. ‘More than 1,500 security personnel have been deployed from the Nepal Police alone.’
